When all else fails…

This pieces of sage advice generally continues with “…read the fabulous manual” (or something very similar).

As it happens, there is a fabulous manual for Ubuntu 10.04. It’s entitled “Getting Started with Ubuntu 10.04 – Second Edition” and is produced by The Ubuntu Manual Team .

Available as a PDF file, the manual contains 166 pages of solid information, including a brief history of Ubuntu and Linux. Of particular interest to users who are new to Ubuntu will be the illustrated guide to installing the software, and an annotated description of the desktop and the available applications. The manual also includes detailed information on making connections to the Internet, using the browser and E-mail client, and working with digital photographs, audio and video files. And the list goes on…

So, don’t read about it. Download it, and read it.
