Android Anti-Virus Revisited

A recent article on PC World’s web site by Darlene Storm of Computerworld reinforces the thesis that malware authors are increasingly targeting Android devices. The article states: “Android… is too popular, too juicy and potentially too lucrative of a target for malware writers to ignore… and Android malware has grown exponentially.

Three free anti-virus apps are noted in the article, namely Avast, Sophos Mobile Security Beta, Lookout Security & Antivirus. While not recommending any specific software, the article’s bottom line is that, whatever security software you choose, “…you better lock and load to protect your Android before you become a victim...”
