Linus Torvalds, the developer of Linux, has been nominated as one of two laureates for Finland’s prestigious Millennium Technology Prize and will share the prize pool of more than one million Euros.
The Millennium Technology Prize is awarded every second year for a “technological innovation that significantly improves the quality of human life, today and in the future”.
Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, is a previous winner of the prize, so Linus will be in good company!
